Rob's now made it to El Paso, TX! Only about 2 1/2 days away from Lafayette, LA!

Condo progress...

A few things are starting to come together, but got lots to do this week with arraning, cleaning up , etc... Comcast was by today and got the job done correctly, so I'm thrilled to have TV back again. Found a spot for a bookcase/nightstand w/ this piece below - I was going to send back to my parents, so happy about this "free" solution.

The bed is back together! Whew... hard work!

What's Going on with ML?

Another week is over. I worked the 27th and 28th, got some major errands done today (big Target run & Home Depot), so going to work on the condo tonight. Gotta get the bed put back together, and will hook up my fancy new DVD player ($34.99 @ Target - love it!) so I can watch a movie. Tonight my Beavs are in their bowl game, but ML will miss it due to Comcast screw up Round One.

Tomorrow will be my big day back at the old apt on Cap Hill to clean, move more stuff, take stuff to Goodwill, etc... Sunday is Comcast Day, Round 2, so am hoping there will be no more problems.

Where in the world is Robbie T? Right now he is on I-5 making his way thru California, trying to get to the Arizona border tonight via I-10.

West Seattle Condo: Making Progress!

Here are some pics of the condo from today. We had movers arrive on Cap Hill @ 8:22am, and were done over here in WS by about 11:15am! Best movers yet! We are making some progress putting stuff away and decorating. The kitchen and bathroom have been the easiest so far. Tonight is our first night staying here, and it definitely feels like home much more now. Stay tuned as ML clears out some of this furniture/clutter, gets new furniture and starts painting.

Weekend Themes - Games, Sick, Condo, Possible broken toe, OH MY!

This past weekend was a busy one! WHEW! Friday night was "Game Night" at Roberta's, as well as I got the keys to the condo YEA! Saturday started out a little rough, as the night before involved a little too much adult beverages. Rob continues to fight a bad virus/flu, so we headed over to Group Health Urgent Care - this would be the 3rd doctor he has seen in 10 days. Finally we get some meds, and hopefully he will start to get better. I ventured over to the condo for the first time Saturday afternoon to drop off the first load. Wow, how exciting and weird all at the same time. Sunday I was up and at 'em @ 7am - early bird get the worm. Got the car all loaded up w/ more stuff, headed downtown for a little Secret Santa Christmas shopping, on to DANIA to put a deposit on my new TV entertainment thing (found out I'm getting a NEW couch to replace our defective one!). Sunday we went to Bellevue Square to get Rob some clothes for his new job - man, what crazy crowds everywhere.
The weekend was rounded out Sunday evening by me ramming the baby toe on my right foot into the corner of our bed - VERY HARD! By the time I was ready for bed, Rob had to make an ice pack. It is now very swollen, hurts really bad and is dark purple (needless to say, I did not wear my fav. Jimmy Choo's today as planned) :-( ML is sad about her toe.....

Too much wine, egg nog, and champagne did not help us finish either game we attempted to play (Monopoly, then Trivial Persuit)! Good times were had by all at Roberta's (my 3rd flr neighbor at The Whitworth) - we ended the night dancing to awesome old music via her excellent collection of 45's!! P.S. I got the keys to my condo last night, as you can see below - we toasted w/ some blubbly!

Bus Sagas - Getting to work can be rough

This is now my 3rd full week of riding the bus to work, and nothing yet has surprised me. I've noticed a real lack of chivalry with men - men do not give up their seat to women anymore. I guess that ended with feminism, which really chaps my hide! I've also had the same African Muslim woman twice now try to shove past me in the aisle as we approach the Montlake stop in the evening - we get off at the same stop! I've told her twice now to wait her turn.

But this morning's ride is the craziest yet - we got into an accident coming down 23rd from Cap Hill! I was in the front, so really felt the crunch of us hitting a white sedan that pulled out in front of our bus (we had a green light by the way). We all sat there a bit stunned for about 30 secs, then piled off onto the sidewalk to await another bus to pick us all up.

I gotta wonder what tonight's ride home will bring....

Weekend Wrap-up

This past weekend was kind of busy for me. Friday night started out with The Sopranos - I rented the last 1/2 of the last season and was determined to get thru all 9 episodes this weekend. Sure enough, there is an indentation on our couch to prove it! HA

Saturday I met Naarah, Aydan and Lori at THIS PLACE for a holiday brunch. Very yummy, esp the mimosa's. I continued Saturday evening to enjoy some red wine and more Sopranos.

Sunday I collected some moving boxes from Jennifer, and got some more packing done on the apartment. Rob's been sick since Thursday w/ a bad cold/flu, so I also spent time this weekend tending to him as well. Sunday evening I headed over to Bellevue to see Rob's parents for dinner and Christmas cheer. Overall, a good weekend.... but now I have a case of the "Monday's" - feeling tired and unmotivated. Sigh.

Aerosoles - is this brand ok? Comments?

So, I happened by the downtown Aerosoles store on my way to the bustop yesterday. Now that I'm taking the bus on a daily basis, and doing a lot more walking than usual, my feet have really been killing me. I especially love to wear stylish high heels, but it's not working for me all the time now. I found THESE, tried them on, and thought they were kind of cute w/ jeans. I like the wedge heel, kind of sporty. The best part is the comfort! But then I got home and the peanut gallery confirmed my thoughts that maybe these are a bit "old fashioned" in a "grandma who is 75" kind of way. I still wore them to work today, and kind of think they are ok.
So, anyone else out there have some thoughts on Aerosoles? Yeah or Nay? I never thought I would be in the market for "comfy shoes".....I definitely won't go the Birkenstock route though! HA
