Go Fug these shoes

My fav blog, Go Fug Yourself, fails to comment on the shoes Kimberely Stewert is wearing in this pic. Is it me? Am I out of style, or are these Christian Louboutain shoes simply hideous (Naarah, feel free to chime in here..)? I hate these shoes, and I've been seeing them around now for about 9 months. They are 70's, plain and simple, and I do not like them, Sam I Am!!

OMG - CHECK OUT THESE SOCKS

OK. I'm not the best dresser in the world, but COME ON!! And please take the time to read the commentary,b/c it is funny.....

Interesting news out of Corvallis...

Cournety Love's mom lives in my hometown of Corvallis, OR. I had heard that thru a close friends, whose father I believe is friend's with Courtney's mom. The pic attached shows where Courtney gets her looks from. This book could be an interesting read in the bathrooom maybe......

Headline: Al-Qaida No. 2 calls Bush a "butcher"

Do I really need to add more comentary to this headline?! Please. Al-Qaida calling Bush a butcher? Do we need to re-hash the butchery that was 9-11? Apparently al-Qaida forgot about that episode in world history.... When they kill us it's always justified somehow, but if the U.S. stikes back, then we are butchers. Ah ha. Yes, we got it. You good, us bad. I'm so tired from my trip across the country, I really don't have the energy to comment on this pathetic cry from the middle east.
Read amoungst yourselves here.

THE SEAHAWKS = SUPERBOWL

OK People, the Superbowl is this coming Sunday...the ONLY team to root for is our SEAHAWKS!!! They cannot be stopped!! This is their year and the year for Seattle to shine. Rob and I are truely sorry we are not there to celebrate with our fellow fans. The two of us will watch here in our NH apartment - me with a bottle of red wine from WA (I moved here with a case from Pete's wine shop on E. Lynn in my old work neighborhood of Eastlake Ave E.! - shout out to Naarah here) and T with a beer or two. GOOO HAWKS!!!!

Hello Again...from New Hamphire! Part 1 of Many

Well, we meet again after many, many days of non-blogging! I am back with a vengenance - no stone will be left un-turned and all topics are on the table. First up on the list is my trip from Seattle to Nashua. This long journey began the morning of Monday, 1/23 and commenced with our arrival in Nashua on Friday 1/27 @ approx 5pm local time - that is 2pm for you on the West Coast. Here is a general outline of how things went for my dad and I (Pic attached is us today at the infamous Logan Airport in Boston -departure place of one loathesome piece of shit - Mohammad Atta):

Mon 1/23: I arise after a fitful night of sleep at 6am. I have asked Bekins to show up at 8am, so I figure this is enough time for one last Starbsucks run, shower and load my car. Apparently being "on time" is not part of the customer service stragety at Bekins. I give it to 9am, as I am trying to be flexible, and then call to track these people down. I get put on hold for a few, then told the guys are running late to due heavy traffic and un-named "issues" - I'm like "HUH"?? At that very moment I am watching the traffic report on TV and all freeways are green, which means smooth sailing. My guess - I'm dealing with some hungover guys who just celebrated the Hawks making it to the Superbowl!! If that was the case and they were honest with me, I could have gone with that, but the mysterious "issues" doesn't work for me. I am told they will be there by 10:30am! ugh.... I could have slept for an extra hour! Once these yahoos show up, they move FAST! So fast that I'm sure my stuff will get broken...ML is very nervous watching them. I am convinced that hiring movers has turned into a debacle big time. I am finally out the door by 1:45pm, after doing a very quick walk-thru with my bldg mgmt. Sounds like I will actually get most of my deposit back, which is a huge surprise, as usually I get screwed out of these somehow. I race down to Southcenter, my car so loaded down I cannot see out of the back or right mirrors -yikes! I am so frazzled at this point I leave Seattle in my dust and have no time to feel sad or melancholy....all I want to do it meet my parents and get my dad in the car so we can hit I-90.... We manage to get on the road close to3pm. I get us out of the metro area and to Ellensburg, WA safely. We grab a bite here at the oh-so-healthy, but pocketbook-friendly BK -the first of many fast food stops which will wreak havoc on my body later in the trip (more juicy details on that later in the blog - bet you can't wait!).....My dad takes over the drivers seat from Ellensburg. It is smooth sailing all the way thru to Spokane. I am disappointed I am hitting Spokane at night, as I haven't been there since I was 4 yrs old. I am very impressed with Spokane. If R landed a job there, I would be thrilled...

Being Stupid = Fame and Fortune

It just boggles my mind how our society continues to pay attention to stupid people and reward them with fame/fortune. Here is Example Number One - Paris Hilton. Below are some brilliant thoughts by this ditzy airhead, as published by MSN.com. Apparently she was involved in some kind of deposition recently, and this is what came out of it:

On her people skills: "If something happens bad to someone, I just don't talk to them again. I don't confront people. I don't do anything."
On being kind to others: "I was trying to be nice. Because if you are nice to someone, then they can't talk bad about you. Like, they'll feel bad saying mean things about you."
On the impact of technology: "Whatever I write in an email, it doesn't mean anything. It is just words I write."
On interpersonal relationships: "I meet so many people. I don't even know some of my friends' names."
On her former publicist referring to Graff as a "stalker" in the Page Six piece: "I would never say stalking. I'm not like a dude. Like, I think a girl can only stalk a guy. She can't really stalk another girl."
On her deep knowledge of Greek culture: "It is like a weird Greek name. Like Douglas or ..."
On whether she knew that "U.K. publications" had picked up the Graff item: "No ... there is stuff in London." When her lawyer points out that "London is a U.K. publication," Paris replies, "Right. U.K. Whatever."
On globetrotting: "I was in Europe the whole summer, and all there is is like French -- I didn't see anything [about the Graff story] because I wasn't in America."
On the physical impact of the deposition: "I'm so hungry."
On Graff's alleged plan to bring down Paris and Paris: "[Latsis] said that she was going to do voodoo on me. And I kind of do believe in that stuff a little bit, so I was a little bit scared about that ... " Continues Hilton, "[Latsis] said that she threatened to send Mexican people to come and beat the [bleep] out of him."
The deposition concludes with a worried Paris asking, "This is not going to the media, right?" Told that it wasn't, she sighed, "Good."

Her parents must be very proud at the brilliant offspring they produced!

This is why I am no fan of the camera-phone

Here is exactly why I think camera-phones are a bad idea. I saw this story/situtation a mile away!! As you can see from the photo he has one phone taking the pic, and then he's on another phone probably describing his actions to one of his greasy loser buddies. I can bet Daniel Thurman might have some trouble on the dating circuit after this.... what a total slime.

Fashion Roundup

Way back in 1986 I would have killed for this outfit!! Sweet off the shoulder sweater, frosted eye shadow and perfect legwarmers. But I'm pretty sure back then my parents would not have let me out of the house in this consdering pants are missing....and I was 11 years old then.
Please, be my guest and click here and enjoy

Calling all Mervyn's shoppers

For those of you who are loyal Mervyn's shoppers, I am here to announce that all of their Washington stores will be closing. Also 7 in Oregon will close. Hmmmm.... not sure how I feel as I rarely step foot in that store. I was never really sure what Mervyn's was supposed to be about...

Updates on the Big Move out East

Well, here are some updates on our big move:
1) Rob arrived the evening of the 13th. Assestment: Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Our town is pretty old and maybe he didn't get that fully at first. I have a feeling come Halloween, he might be right. Hopefully our new house will not have a ghost.....
2) We have a kick ass mall in our town and I have already Mapquested how to get there. You know, shopping is key...gotta know where the mall is.
3) Yesterday was Rob's first day as a flight instructor. It was not his best day, but things should get better. He is out of his comfort zone big time and will have an adjustment period. Today was better I think from the conversation I had with him. He has one student right now.
4) There is lots of packed snow/ice on the ground and it's cold.
5) Today starts my final last days at work here in Seattle. I'm super busy and starting to feel sad. I love my job, and have very high hopes that I will be re-hired by my company in a few weeks. I will be doing my same job as I did here, but for the New England district.
6) I'm still packing and collecting good boxes. Last night though I only managed to pack 4 boxes, so need to do a better job tonight. I will be ready for the movers on Monday.

Tuesday funny

Just as I finished my daily reading of Go Fug Yourself, and had my dose a side-aching laughter, my good friend Naarah emailed me THIS and lauched me into hyper-ventalation mode. All I can say is OMG! As you can see from the subtitle of this site, "Archive of the world's ugliest brides maids dresses", there is much potential here for future belly laughs. Let's give a shout out to Naarah, who has a keen eye for the funny.

Governor Vampire anyone?

Oh boy....if this guy wins this election then I think this country may have just taken a left turn towards HELL.... What's up over there in Minnesota?

Update on Rob

I just spoke with him and he was somewhere near Elkhart, IN trying to make it tonight to Erie, PA. Tomorrow will be the final push to Nashua and our new home!! That poor boy must be sooo tired.

Seattle is a SUPER NICE city!

Well, looks like Seattle is not on the list as America's Meanest Cities. Check out this story about a study done by the National Coalition for the Homeless. The homeless have their own coalition??!! what? Very odd. No wonder Seattle is overrun by homeless...this city bends over backwards for those folks.
I am soooo hoping that in my new city of Nashua I may actually go one day without being asked for money. That truely would be a blessing :-)

The Nashua Telegraph

In an effort to get to know my new hometown newspaper, the Nashua Telegraph, I've made it a favorite on my computer and am checking it out each day....mostly for the weather report. BBRRR.... it's cold.
But today I found this little editorial that really cracked me up. Made me think of so many, many annoying moments in the check out line at Safeway, on the freeway, etc... Take a moment to read this one.

Moving 3000 miles is pure insanity!

Woa...this moving stuff is crazy! Last week I never went to bed before midnight, and I believe only ate one meal each day. This weekend got better, but was busy getting Rob ready to leave on Sunday morning. Now today, life is back to no sleep, knots in my stomach, and all I've eaten today is two bananas and some popcorn! HA Maybe I'll start losing the 20 pounds I've packed on these past 5 years here at AIG VALIC. Sitting in this desk has not helped the waistline one bit. Finally at 6:20pm I'm about to leave my office to go home and continue packing and feeling frantic. Hopefully watching the soap I tape each day, my beloved Young and the Restless will help me relax.....that and a glass of wine for sure! :-)

I am New Hampshire bound

For those of you who read my blog... I would guess all 3 of you....thought I would annouce my departure from Seattle. Yes, you read right - I'm heading to beautiful New Hampshire with Rob this month. He leaves tomorrow morning, and I will be leaving on the 23rd. Here is our new address: 20B Holmes Street, Nashua, NH 03060. Please write to us, check my blog, etc.... Stay in touch! :-) We will be keeping our same phone numbers for now, same emails, etc... I am buying a digital camera once we get back there, so will start posting pictures on this blog of all my adventures checking out New England and Boston!!

This story makes my blood boil!

This man is allowed to teach in our country?! He is completely insane. The Holocaust was a myth? Please read this article....very scary indeed. People like this man really worry me. He think he knows history, but does not. Spreading the idea that the Holocuast did not happen, hammering that idea into people's head's is very dangerous.
