Random ML Facts below:
1. My favorite breakfast is eggs benedict. i'm very picky about the hollandaise sauce - there has to be plenty and it has to be good. I do not order this in a Denny's, Shari's or Elmer's.
2. at any meal, all my food must be separate - if I can control it - and I will eat each area separately.
3. I will admit to almost always letting my phone go to VM - caller id is the BEST invention of ALL time (outside of TV).
4. I still really love 90210 and Melrose Place and wish they would come back on TV (very excited about a recent 90210 spin-off rumor I heard)
5. I tried out to Jeopardy back in 2003 at the downtown Seattle Westin Hotel. I did not pass the 50 question test - it was hard. I plan to try again
6. I am a human GPS - I always know what direction I am in. If you take me anywhere once, I can get there again with out directions, no matter how much time has passed.
7. I, after 12 + yrs, continue to be fascinated with my biological family and it's dynamics.
8. One of my dreams in life was to be the concertmaster of a very famous symphony - the concertmaster is the first violin position.
9. I think I love animals more than the average person. I am no PETA gal (as I LOVE fur coats/vests very much), but if I could I would live on a farm with a zillion cats, dogs, birds, frogs, etc.... I love animals!!
10. ( and last but not least) I am a secret nerd - I read almost all the time, even when I am watching TV. I know a lot of about history and continue to educate myself about history and never pass up an opporunity to expouse my knowledge - weather people want to hear it or not! HA And in relation to that, another pet peeve is those who get historical facts incorrect. I am the first to correct and usually in an agressive way (maybe not my best quality). I am a stickler about facts..

What an amazing day yesterday - sun and warm temps. I saw so many people out in short sleeves and shorts! Janni and I went for a nice long walk around 12pm, then back to the condo to enjoy our deck. Here are some pics:

Took a long walk down the hill to Alki this morning, left @ 9:30am, got back at 11am. Took some photos - was trying for some good wildlife ones at the beach/park, but no good subjects - just one duck.

Weekend Condo Progress & updates

Hey All,

Finally had a weekend to get back to working on the condo. I decided I definitely like the grey-blue color for the hallway as an accent wall so got the wall done today. The taping, usually the toughest part, wasn't even bad this time. Got both coats done and almsot all the tape off in about 6 hours. I'm very pleased with the outcome.

Haven't had much time to blog b/c in other news, my dad had a stroke 2 weeks ago today. He is going to be ok long term, but short term is in the Oregon Rehabilitation Center in Eugene getting a lot of therpay so he can come home to us very soon. It's been a bit of a rough time for my family, but we are getting thru it. I was down in Oregon last weekend, and will likely go down this next one to check in on him.

Weekend Condo work

So far my Saturday has been very productive - Spent some time at Home Depot, got two Glidden quarts - one is "Overcast" and the other is "Manatee Grey. I think with the chocolate carpet, and my espresso/brown theme, going with blue-grey and green-grey colors will look nice and be warm/soothing at the same time. Big sample areas are up for now, while I see how they look in different light (i.e morning, nightitime, etc....

I also visited the West Seattle Nursery -sorry Shorty's, Vancouver is too far for one pot and a plant :-) I think I got a nice grouping in my pot - some color, and one of plants has little purple flowers that bloom all year. We'll see how it fills out over the next few weeks. I'd like to put a larger urn-style over in the far corner (can't see in photo here) w/ a bigger topiary.

San Fran Tiger Story - Taunting?

Those who know me, know I love animals. I really like big cats, but come on - they are wild animals. When I first heard of the San Fran story, I was shocked, but in the back of my mind wondered if something was fishy here. I mean, why did this animal get out and go crazy? I had my suspisions, now confirmed by THIS STORY. Not that I want to see people die, but come on - what do you expect when taunting a wild animal.

First Cooked Meal at the Condo

Cooking for one is about as lonely as a table for one at a restaurant, so I don't do it that often. Tonight though, I was inspiried to whip out some Porcini Mushroom Risotto - I added asparagus and a little shredded colby cheese. Bon Appetit ML!

Belated Christmas Decorations

With all the moving going on in our lives this past month, I never did get to decorate for Christmas. As I've been unpacking, I came across a few of my favorites, so put them out and I don't care that "technically" Christmas is over. It's still Winter time and I will enjoy my little arrangement :-)

Condo progress...

A few things are starting to come together, but got lots to do this week with arraning, cleaning up , etc... Comcast was by today and got the job done correctly, so I'm thrilled to have TV back again. Found a spot for a bookcase/nightstand w/ this piece below - I was going to send back to my parents, so happy about this "free" solution.

The bed is back together! Whew... hard work!

What's Going on with ML?

Another week is over. I worked the 27th and 28th, got some major errands done today (big Target run & Home Depot), so going to work on the condo tonight. Gotta get the bed put back together, and will hook up my fancy new DVD player ($34.99 @ Target - love it!) so I can watch a movie. Tonight my Beavs are in their bowl game, but ML will miss it due to Comcast screw up Round One.

Tomorrow will be my big day back at the old apt on Cap Hill to clean, move more stuff, take stuff to Goodwill, etc... Sunday is Comcast Day, Round 2, so am hoping there will be no more problems.

Where in the world is Robbie T? Right now he is on I-5 making his way thru California, trying to get to the Arizona border tonight via I-10.

West Seattle Condo: Making Progress!

Here are some pics of the condo from today. We had movers arrive on Cap Hill @ 8:22am, and were done over here in WS by about 11:15am! Best movers yet! We are making some progress putting stuff away and decorating. The kitchen and bathroom have been the easiest so far. Tonight is our first night staying here, and it definitely feels like home much more now. Stay tuned as ML clears out some of this furniture/clutter, gets new furniture and starts painting.
